Emma Mawdsley is a Professor of Human Geography at the University of Cambridge. Her research has focused on environmental and regional politics in India, and is currently oriented to various aspects of global development politics, including the threats and possibilities of the current conjuncture. She became interested in ‘hope’ in Geography a few years ago, and now teaches a highly collaborative and (for Cambridge!) relatively innovative third year course on ‘hopeful geographies’.
